Privacy

This site does not track you. It has no accounts, no login, no comments, no contact form, no newsletter, no advertising, and no analytics of any kind. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Nothing about your reading is profiled, sold, or passed on for marketing.

What follows is the honest remainder: the few places where data unavoidably arises when a web page is served at all. There is essentially one — the web server's own access log. The site makes no request to any third party: no fonts from Google, no embeds, no scripts from elsewhere. Everything it loads, it loads from itself.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger (HOSTINGER, UAB, Švitrigailos str. 34, LT-03230 Vilnius, Lithuania) and is served from their data centre in Germany — that is, inside the EU. No hosting data for this site leaves the EU/EEA. Hostinger acts as processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Like every web server, theirs writes an access log entry for each request. Per Hostinger's own documentation, an entry records: the time of the request, your IP address, the request itself (method and the page or file asked for), your device and browser as reported by the user-agent header, the country derived from the IP address, the size of the response, and the response time.

So yes — your IP address is recorded, as it is on any web server; a page cannot be sent to you without it. These logs exist so the site can be delivered and kept secure and stable, which is the legitimate interest they rest on (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). They are not merged with any other data, not used to build profiles, and not used to identify visitors. They are visible to the operator of this site only through Hostinger's hosting panel, which shows the last hour up to the last seven days, and are consulted only if something is broken or under attack. Hostinger does not publish a retention period for the underlying logs; that period is theirs to set.

Web fonts

The typefaces — EB Garamond for the text, Amiri for the Arabic — are hosted on this site's own server. Your browser fetches them from seerah.academy along with the pages themselves. Nothing is requested from Google Fonts or any other font service, so no IP address of yours reaches a third party on account of the typography.

Both families are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits serving them this way.

Search

The search box runs entirely in your browser: it downloads one index file of page titles once and matches your query against it locally. Your search terms are never sent anywhere, and no record of them is kept.

Links to other sites

Pages here link out to YouTube, Google Drive, arqadhi.blogspot.com, and other sites. Nothing from those services is embedded — no player, no iframe, no pixel — so they learn nothing about you unless you click through. Once you do, their own privacy policies apply.

If you write to us

If you send an email — to report a mistake, for example — your address and the content of your message are processed only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR), and kept only as long as that requires. Correspondence is not used for anything else.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Since this site keeps no records of visitors, there is in practice usually nothing here to access or erase — but any request is welcome at info@seerah.academy.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde.

This notice describes the site as it currently stands. If anything changes — an embed, a form, statistics of any kind — it will be changed here first.
