Reliability (schema §5)

• Hunayn is named in the Quran (Q 9:25–26); its core is well attested; the 20,000/12,000 figures follow the standard reports but Arab numbers are prone to inflation; the Halimah-at-Hunayn report is weaker (al-Bayhaqi).
• Ta’if — the siege length is genuinely disputed (2 weeks to 40 days; Yasir Qadhi favours <2 weeks); the kharijite prototype and Hakim ibn Hizam are in Bukhari & Muslim.
• The Miracles — 1,000–1,200+ authentically narrated (al-Bayhaqi, al-Nawawi); the splitting of the moon (Q 54:1) and the weeping trunk (mutawatir) are the strongest; ilm al-ghayb is partial and by Allah’s leave (Q 72:26–27), never absolute (Q 7:188).
• Tabuk — anchored in Surah al-Tawba and long Bukhari & Muslim narrations (esp. Ka’b ibn Malik, muttafaq ʿalayh). • The true size of the Tabuk army (the “20,000” almost certainly inflated).
• Whether Shayma (and Halimah, if the weaker report is accepted) accepted Islam.
• The identity of the “mosque founded on taqwa” (Q 9:108) — Masjid Quba, the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque, or any such mosque.
